Exploring Solid-State Battery Mass Production and AI-Driven Intelligent Manufacturing | JSH Showcases at the 2026 GGII Lithium Battery Industry Summit
Date:
2026-07-15
From July 14 to 15, the 2026 (19th) GGII Lithium Battery Industry Summit was held at the Hyatt Regency Shenzhen Airport. Centered on the theme “Power Batteries & Energy Storage: Diverging Growth, Intensifying Competition,” this year’s summit featured in-depth discussions on key topics including solid-state battery industrialization, AI-enabled manufacturing, emerging application scenarios, and industrial chain synergy.

Jingshi Automation Machinery Technology (hereinafter referred to as JSH) was invited to participate in the summit, attending the launch ceremony of the 2026 China Solid-State Battery Industry Chain Development Blue Book, as well as the solid-state battery roundtable forum and a keynote session. From the perspectives of testing process equipment and intelligent manufacturing, the company shared its technological insights and practical experience in advancing the industrialization of solid-state batteries and improving quality and reducing energy consumption during the formation and grading processes.

Discussing Solid-State Battery Mass Production | Bridging the Intelligent Manufacturing Gap Through Collaboration
On July 14, the 2026 China Solid-State Battery Industry Chain Development Blue Book, edited by GGII and co-compiled by JSH, was officially released. The Blue Book provides an in-depth analysis of technology evolution, the current status of the industrial chain, and commercialization pathways, serving as a valuable reference for the industry to assess trends and deepen collaborative efforts.

During the subsequent roundtable discussion titled “When Will Solid-State Batteries Reach Large-Scale Mass Production?”, Max Xiong, Deputy Director of the Research Institute at JSH, engaged in lively exchanges with other industry experts on topics including technology roadmaps, cost-reduction pathways, supply chain improvement, and the deployment of application scenarios.
Max noted that semi-solid-state batteries are not merely a short-term transitional solution. Owing to their high compatibility with the existing lithium-ion battery supply chain and manufacturing processes, they are expected to deliver performance upgrades while effectively controlling investment risks, and are likely to coexist with all-solid-state batteries over an extended period. He emphasized that the path toward mass production of solid-state batteries hinges not only on material breakthroughs, but more critically on overcoming engineering challenges such as solid-solid interface control, process stability, and the maturation of specialized manufacturing equipment.

He further pointed out that the industry must enhance the collaborative development among materials, processes, and equipment, transforming critical process parameters into stable and reproducible manufacturing capabilities. Targeting pioneering application scenarios such as the low-altitude economy and premium passenger vehicles, JSH is advancing the development of high-pressure formation and capacity integrated machines, warm isostatic pressing (WIP) equipment, and integrated battery testing production line solutions, leveraging coordinated force-thermal-electrical control to accelerate the deployment of solid-state battery mass production.
Focusing on AI Collaboration | Reshaping the Efficiency of Formation and Grading
On July 15, at the thematic forum “What Can AI Bring to Batteries?”, Max delivered a keynote presentation titled “New Solutions for Improving Quality and Reducing Energy Consumption in Formation and Grading through AI Software-Hardware Synergy amid the TWh Mass Production Wave.” In his presentation, he systematically shared the company’s technological approach to enhancing quality, reducing energy consumption, and improving efficiency through deep integration of software and hardware.
To address the increasingly stringent requirements for quality, efficiency, and energy consumption in the TWh-scale manufacturing era, JSH is leveraging AI as the driving force and digital twin technology as the foundation. Focusing on the challenges of high energy consumption, low efficiency, and insufficient consistency in formation and grading processes, the company has developed a testing process stage solution integrating intelligent scheduling, intelligent power supply systems, and high-efficiency equipment.

By integrating digital twins, predictive maintenance, and flexible energy scheduling, the system connects equipment, process, logistics, and energy data across the entire production line, enabling the transition from passive execution to intelligent decision-making while reducing overall energy consumption by 5%-10%. AI-powered capacity prediction and the “One Cell, One Strategy” technology optimize grading paths, shortening the grading cycle by 30% and improving cell consistency by more than 5%. Meanwhile, HVDC technology increases charging and discharging efficiencies to 87% and 84%, respectively, further reducing production line operating costs.
To support the industrialization of solid-state batteries, JSH is accelerating the development of high-pressure formation & capacity integrated machines and warm isostatic pressing (WIP) equipment, applying coordinated force-thermal-electrical control to address manufacturing challenges such as solid-solid interface contact. Backed by experience from the delivery of more than 200 battery testing stage production lines with a total capacity exceeding 600 GWh, the company continues to provide global customers with efficient, low-carbon, and highly replicable intelligent manufacturing solutions.
Strengthening System Capabilities | Deepening Commitment to Core Testing Process Technologies
Drawing on more than 32 years of experience in intelligent equipment development and over 20 years of expertise in the lithium battery industry, JSH has established comprehensive testing process stage turnkey solutions covering formation and grading, inspection and sorting, and intelligent logistics. The company possesses integrated delivery capabilities encompassing core equipment, process control, logistics systems, and data platforms.
As the industry shifts from rapid capacity expansion toward comprehensive competition in quality, efficiency, and cost, JSH will continue to focus on core battery testing process technologies, deepen the integration of software and hardware, strengthen collaboration across the industry chain, and provide more efficient and reliable equipment and system solutions to support the high-quality development of the new energy industry.
